Who is DAT?
The Directors of Academic Technology (DAT) represent the administrative staff at CSU campuses responsible for the integration of information technology into the learning and teaching environment. It is an advantage to the CSU and to each campus individually to collaborate when evaluating, adopting and implementing new technology into the academic environment. By collaborating on system-wide purchases, group adoption of technology standards, operating procedures, and best practices, we can leverage CSU expertise, time and money to create high quality learning environments on every campus.
You can see who represents each campus at DAT Roster on CalState. A new DAT Executive Committee is elected each year.
CSU Campuses Share Expertise and Experience
Collectively, the CSU campuses have an enormous amount of expertise and experience to share. The Directors of Academic Technology (DAT) hold regular meetings, host webinars, collaborate on projects, and use this website to contribute knowledge and resources for the benefit of all.
Here's a recent example: San Jose State gave a one-hour webinar detailing their selection process and implementation plan/experience of migrating to the Desire2Learn LMS.
You can get involved! Contribute your expertise by adding resources (documents, links) on this website. Share campus projects and initiatives at DAT meetings, or present webinars about these or other academic technology topics. Contact DAT staff to discuss your ideas.
